About the Pastors of Community Bible Church

Pastor Wenger

Jonathan Wenger

Pastor Jonathan Wenger recently retired after 11 years with Community Bible Church. He was raised in a strong Christian home and began his relationship with Jesus Christ while in high school through the influence of a ministry called Young Life. Jon led Young Life clubs while in college and was on their staff in Dallas when he felt called to attend Seminary.

Jonathan and his wife, Barb, have two grown daughters, in whom they find great delight. Jon enjoys the opportunity to communicate the truths of the Bible through preaching, and he also pursues a lifetime commitment to the game of golf.

Lindsey Brummer

Pastor Lindsey Brummer grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa. Raised in a Christian home, he came to faith in Christ at an early age. Following graduation from Iowa State University, he worked for three years with the 4-H organization in Swaziland Africa and Iowa. While in Swaziland, he felt called by God to serve in full-time Christian ministry.

Lindsey attended Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from seminary, he was hired in 1985 to serve as the pastor of the newly-formed Community Bible Church in Abilene. After serving in that capacity for 22 years, he took a position at Memorial Hospital in Abilene where he worked for 7 years. In June of 2014, he returned to the staff of Community Bible Church as the Associate Pastor.

Bringing special joy to Lindsey's life are his two daughters and son-in-laws, Hannah & Chris Parker and Kendra & Nate Goering. In addition to his passion for teaching truth from God's word, Lindsey remains an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan.
